Members of the Atlantic Caucus of Home & School Associations/School Council Federations held a very productive meeting in Fredericton NB on May 13, 2017.

Representatives from the Home & School Federations in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward, and the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of School Councils met to discuss priority issues in education and share ideas and concerns impacting schools in their respective provinces. The meeting was chaired by Leola Langille, President of New Brunswick Federation of Home and School Associations Inc.

The meeting provided the opportunity for each representative to discuss new education initiatives, provide updates on current policies and programs, as well as celebrate the successes happening in schools throughout Atlantic Canada.

If you are a parent/guardian/student or teacher and would like to offer comments about education in Nova Scotia please drop in and visit us.
I would like to begin by welcoming all the students, educators and support staff back to school. After the beautiful summer we had I know it is difficult to get back into a routine and even more difficult to have to sit in a warm classroom and dream of those summer days. Now that fall is just around the corner we can enjoy those crisp mornings and the changing of the leaves.

It is hard to believe that is “that” time of year again. On October 15th, NSFHSA will be hosting our Annual General Meeting. This meeting offers the parents/guardians the opportunity to get involved and possibly join our organization. This year the positions of President Elect and Treasurer are up for election. The President Elect would be taking over October 2017. This is a great way to get involved and give back to your community. The positions are challenging, somewhat time consuming but very rewarding. If you have someone in mind you’d like to nominate for one of these positions please complete the nomination form and submit to This email address is being protected from spambots.
